Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal recently announced that his party will not form an alliance with Congress for the upcoming assembly elections. Kejriwal is the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, which is running the government in Delhi. Earlier, AAP and Congress had signed an agreement for the Lok Sabha elections. But this agreement could not stop BJP from winning all the seven seats in Delhi.
AAP has been running the government in Delhi for three consecutive times, while Congress has been reduced to zero in the last two elections. People were hopeful that if AAP and Congress come together in Delhi elections, then maybe the situation of Congress would improve a bit.
Let us try to understand who will be affected if there is no agreement between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress. The excitement for the Delhi Assembly elections has intensified. The leaders of Aam Aadmi Party and Congress were continuously denying the possibility of an agreement. Kejriwal has approved this. Even after the Congress Working Committee meeting held, Delhi Congress President Devendra Yadav had said that his party will contest the elections alone on all 70 seats. He had called the agreement reached in the Lok Sabha elections a mistake. He had said that his party would not make this blunder again. Whereas AAP spokespersons had said that their party alone is capable of handling BJP and Congress.
Aam Aadmi Party government is running in Delhi for the last three times. BJP continuously accused Arvind Kejriwal's government of corruption. From CM and Deputy CM to AAP MP and many leaders had to go to jail in the alleged liquor policy scam. Another one of its ministers also had to go to jail on corruption charges. Some of its MLAs are also in jail on similar charges. BJP has been continuously on the streets on the issue of corruption. Due to this pressure, Arvind Kejriwal had to resign from the post of Chief Minister after coming from jail. Whereas Congress has not been able to come on the streets against the Kejriwal government in these years. Its leaders have been limited to rhetoric only. Seeing the elections approaching, Delhi Congress President Devendra Yadav started raising the issue of corruption. Earlier, an agreement was reached with Congress at a time when Arvind Kejriwal's party was facing serious allegations of corruption. It was the same AAP which had brought Congress down by accusing it of corruption. Senior journalist
A veteran Political activist of Delhi, Pritam Dhariwal says that the voter of Delhi votes separately in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. This trend is being seen in the last several elections. The people of Delhi have been giving all the Lok Sabha seats of Delhi to BJP for the last three times. At the same time, it is continuously strengthening the Aam Aadmi Party in the assembly elections. They say that due to the strengthening of AAP, the Congress has become continuously weak.
